In Dark Places is definitely living up to its title. It’s becoming more deeply terrifying than I imagined (which is saying something because I imagined quite a bit), but it’s that suspense and sense of foreboding that’s making it not only a page-turner to read, but a page-turner to write. While I get further along into the story (which appears to have the makings of topping out at just under 120K words), enjoy Chapter 1. Oh, and it’s pretty much my first draft of Chapter 1, just as Chapters 2 and 3 are first drafts. As always, feedback is appreciated! Enjoy!
